Pope Francis Voted Most Admired Man In America After Barack Obama

Americans have again named Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama as the most admired woman and man in the world, but it's the second place finishers who make a more unusual pair.

According to a Gallup poll, 17 percent of Americans named the president as the man they admired most in 2015, but the runners-up - at five percent apiece - were Donald Trump and Pope Francis.

It's Trump's second appearance on the list in recent years. In 2011, one percent of Americans called Trump the man they admired most. Pope Francis was the second place finisher on the list in 2013 and 2014.

Clinton has been named the woman most admired by Americans for each of the last 14 years - and she's held the spot a total of 20 times in her career.

President Obama has been named the most admired man a total of eight times.

Other politicos who made the top ten list, according to Gallup, were Carly Fiorina, who was named the most admired woman by two percent of Americans, and Elizabeth Warren, who had one percent support.

Bernie Sanders and Ben Carson also made the list of most admired men, at three percent and one percent, respectively.
