Britain's hardest-working beauty queen is poised to hang up her crown after attending nearly 250 events in under two years - while still keeping her full-time job.

Building surveyor Sophie Lydia Smith, 25, was crowned Miss Cheltenham 2014 and 2015 after impressing the judges with her determination to be a positive female role model.

But instead of sitting back she has used her two year reign to voluntarily attend a whopping 238 events - more than two every week.

As well as raising money and being a charity ambassador, the blonde beauty has also gained a 1st class degree, won Come Dine With Me and appeared on the One Show.

Sophie, who is due to pass on her title in March, said: "To sum up the experience I would have to say it has been truly sensational and more than anything I could have expected.

"Just to win it was a dream come true, but to have all the other amazing experiences that came after couldn't have been more amazing and often surprising.

"It has been very busy, and I can't believe how much I have done. It wasn't until I was asked about it, and then looked back on it, that I realised how busy I have been.
