Police and rioting fans fight under the Eiffel Tower as France lose Euro 2016 to Portugal

Authorities reserved space for about 80,000 football fans at the Eiffel Tower in Paris for Sunday night's Euro 2016 final clash between hosts France and Portugal (who went on the lift the trophy). However, just before the main clash started, a clash broke out between Police and some fans who were ejected from the location due to the teeming number of people who turned out in excesses.
Some of the violent fans set up fires around the area and pelted Police with water cans. In response, French policemen threw canons of tear gas and pelted water on the violent fans. About 50 people were also arrested in connection to the incident.

After the final whistle of the France vs Portugal game, another civil unrest was witnessed around Champs Elysee, as crowds of hooligans reportedly made up of French fans threw bottles and other missiles at Police in anger for losing the final to Portugal.
