Portugal won their first Euro Championship trophy in history after a 1 - 0 winner against hosts France on Sunday 10 July 2016 night. The lone goal of the match came from Eder during extra time after 90 minutes of normal play. Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo was sidelined for the most part of the game after he was injured and substituted on the 25th minute.
